The research group Poultry Meat Hygiene focusses on hygienic aspects in the process of different poultry meat production systems.

Recent research projects deal with the evaluation of different influencing factors regarding the reduction of ESBL E. coli in the context of poultry slaughter (Project “EsRAM”, AP Fleischhygiene, Project leader Dr. Nina Langkabel).

Additionally, in the project “Integhof” the working group examines dual-purpose chickens compared to conventional broiler and laying genetics at abattoir level (Project leader Dr. Nina Langkabel).
