Study and teaching
In the eighth semester, the Institute for Poultry Diseases offers lectures and clinical demonstrations on the diseases of commercial poultry, as well as of ornamental, zoo, and wild birds. In addition to the aetiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy, and prophylaxis of infectious diseases, the keeping of commercial and hobby birds, as well as laboratory diagnostic methods, are also covered.
In addition, elective courses are offered to provide in-depth coverage of selected topics, for which external lecturers are also invited.

Furthermore, a multi-day course is held for students in their ninth and tenth semesters as part of their clinical rotation in the field of livestock medicine. The locations and contents are as follows (subject to change at short notice).
