Expert Discussions

Regular integration of external experts takes place primarily within the context of an expert discussion between representatives of the discipline and external experts, centering on aspects of study and teaching activities. The expert discussion should be viewed as a collegial consultation in which the external experts supply an unbiased external perspective in order to explore how relevant and up to date subject-specific content of study programs is.

There are three forms of expert discussion:

  1. Regular expert discussions involving external experts take place for established programs. These discussions are required every four to five years.
  2. An expert discussion based on a specific event or reason is held when a study program is newly established. This takes place outside the stipulated interval.
  3. An expert discussion based on a specific event or reason is also held when there are plans to make fundamental changes in the portfolio of study programs or when there is a need for clarification with regard to the appropriateness of the subject-specific offerings. This also takes place outside the stipulated interval.
