Forschung

For 20 years, the Veterinary Clinic for Reproduction has been conducting intensive research in the field of fertility disorders and udder health. In 2013 alone, we presented a total of 91 publications with a total impact factor of 41.3. This makes the Veterinary Clinic for Reproduction one of the strongest research clinics in the School of Veterinary Medicine.

Among other things, we have conducted scientific studies on the following key areas:

  • Minimizing the use of antibiotics in acute bovine metritis
  • Validation of innovative diagnostic methods for mastitis and metritis
  • Optimization of puerperal and metabolic health
  • Screening with trained dogs for oestrus, bacteria and lung cancer
  • Evidence-based veterinary medicine
  • Heat stress and fertility as well as milk yield

We also carry out studies (proof of concept, marketing, clinical studies, observational studies) on behalf of ministries and well-known companies in the animal health sector.

The third-party funds raised per year exceed € 100,000.
