First of all, please make sure you are not an applicant equal to German applicants (see FAQ no. 1). If you are not, the following is valid:

Foreigners with foreign entrance requirements for higher education who are interested in applying at Free University of Berlin may send their application to uni-assist. They check whether the application meets formal requirements. This is liable to costs. Your application will not be checked until the fee has been paid. To speed up the checking of your application include a proof of payment in your application. Further information: www.uni-assist.de

With your application for first semester studies you need to prove your knowledge of the German language. This is possible with the following certificates:

• TestDaF Level 3 in each of the four tests
• Niveau B2 Ger (middle school II)
• Middle School II
