Final sprint in the joint research project „PraeRi“

It is now the final spurt for the scientists of the joint research project „PraeRi -Animal Health, Hygiene and Biosecurity in German dairy farms - a prevalence study“. Since Decembre 2016, experienced veterinarians of the veterinary faculties from the Freie Universität Berlin, the University of Veterinary Medicine Foundation Hannover, and the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich visited 750 dairy farms in selected study regions across Germany and collected data regarding health status of dairy cattle and their offspring, housing conditions, nutrition, and management. The team from Freie Universität Berlin visited 252 dairy farms in total (81 small sized, 87 middle sized and 84 large sized) in the federal states Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Brandenburg and scored 49947 dairy cows and 9148 calves.
