News from Aug 23, 2019
As a doctoral student at the Dahlem Research School, Ms Loß worked on the research topic "Inflammasomes as potential mediators of probiotic effects in porcine intestinal immune and epithelial cells" at the Institute of Veterinary Physiology of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the Free University of Berlin. Her dissertation thesis of the same title for the degree of Dr. med. vet. was defended with the grade "summa cum laude" after three positive reviews on 20.08.2019 as part of a collegial examination at the Department of Veterinary Medicine.
The cumulative dissertation thesis includes three peer-reviewed original publications in international journals, of which Ms Loß is first author of two publications.
Ms Loß had already presented the results of her work in the form of lectures and posters at scientific conferences during her doctoral studies. The doctorate was financially supported by an Elsa Neumann scholarship from the state of Berlin and by a DFG grant in kind (LO 2058/1-1).
We wish Ms Loß all the best for her future life!
