Hygiene and food testing internship

Training in control activities, methods and techniques for the food sector
(short: Hygiene- und Lebensmitteluntersuchungspraktikum gemäß § 55 (1) und § 56 (1) TAppV)

Duration 75 hours within at least 2 consecutive weeks
Timing During the clinical rotations in the 9th semester and 10th semester (October 1 to September 30 of the following year)
Breakdown 1 facility
Facilities
  • the competent authority for the hygiene supervision of slaughterhouses and food businesses or departments responsible for monitoring the movement of foodstuffs of animal origin or the corresponding food inspection, or
  • recognized institutions of the food industry that test the quality and safety of food of animal origin, or
  • relevant university institutions

Countries An EU country, other state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, Switzerland
Verification 1 certificate according to Annex 6 TAppV
Learning objectives The learning objectives of the internship can be found in the general catalog for the Veterinary Medicine degree program.
Evaluation Please hand in the completed questionnaires together with your internship certificate in person at the Library of Veterinary Medicine. The questionnaires can be found in the brochure “Extramural Internships in Veterinary Medicine”.
