The Institute of Poultry Diseases offers students of the eighth semester lectures and clinical demonstrations on various diseases of poultry, ornamental, zoo-, and wild birds. Aetiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy and prophylaxis of infectious diseases form the main content of lectures. However, our aim is to teach the adequate keeping of different birds according to their special needs as well. We also provide students the relevant laboratory diagnostics.
Furthermore, interested students can choose our elective courses to which external lecturers are regularly invited to talk about their researches and discuss with the participants upcoming issues.
Students in their fifth year of study generally attend to a two-day course as part of the clinical rotation at our institute. The program includes propaedeutics, laboratory diagnostic methods, practicing necropsy and a visit to a poultry farm.
