Lecture Biostatistics

The lecture biostatistics addresses students of the 2nd semester. Basics of statistics such as descriptive statistics, associations, correlation and regression, chance and probability, confidence intervals as well as simple statistical tests are taught. Additionally, elements of epidemiology like the assessment of diagnostic test results are presented.

The lecture takes place in lecture hall 1, Koserstr. 20, on Tuesdays from 8 to 10 AM. Successful participation is certified by passing a written exam. Further information as well as lecture notes are available via the FU Berlin Blackboard.

Journal Club Epidemiolog

The elective Journal Club offers students the opportunity learn about scientific work. On the basis of selected publications, the different aspects of reading (and writing) scientific articles are discussed.

The Journal Club takes place in room 107, house 21 (Königsweg 67), on Thursdays from 3 to 5 PM.

Magic with Excel

Additionally, students learn in the elective "Magic with MS Excel" how to use excel in a proper way. The course takes place in pc pool house 21 (Königsweg 67), on Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM (in winter) and on Thursday from 2 to 4 PM (in summer).
